Simone’s Story
Simone is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has called Atlanta home since immigrating to the United States with her family in 1979.
She has been involved in residential architectural design and the construction industry both in Brazil and in the U.S., building a career that blends technical expertise with genuine care for the people she serves. Drawing on four years of architectural study and decades of hands‑on experience, she continues to update her knowledge so she can bring fresh ideas, practical solutions, and current best practices to every project.
Professional Credentials & Leadership
Simone is certified as a Kitchen and Bathroom Designer (CKD, CBD) through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), a credential that requires extensive proficiency in space planning, codes, and construction‑related details.
She is also a Certified Aging‑in‑Place Specialist (CAPS) through the Home Builders Association, enabling her to design kitchens and baths that are safe, accessible, and comfortable as needs change over time. In 2006, Simone was appointed to the board of directors of the Georgia Chapter of the NKBA as Vice President of Educational Programs, reflecting her ongoing commitment to education and professional standards within the industry.
A Career Built on Residential Renovation
From 1984 to 2008, Simone owned and operated a residential design/build firm that provided preliminary concepts, detailed design, and complete construction services. That experience gave her a deep understanding of how design decisions translate into what actually happens on site, from framing and plumbing to finishes and final details. As the industry evolved, Simone reshaped her business to focus on what she does best: planning and design, specifications, and close supervision of her own projects, while collaborating with trusted colleagues and trades to deliver excellent results.
Today, Simone does not swing the hammer herself, but she knows exactly how every phase of the work should be executed. She uses that construction knowledge to guide clients through selections, manage expectations, and ensure that each trade understands the design intent and quality standards.
Hands‑On Service & A Trusted Team
Simone is known for being extremely hands‑on and present. She visits job sites frequently, monitors progress, and addresses details before they become issues. Clear, proactive communication is central to her process—she believes it is her responsibility to tell clients what will happen, when it will happen, and who will be in their home.
Over the years, Simone has cultivated relationships with top tradesmen and residential contractors who share her commitment to craftsmanship and professionalism. She assembles and coordinates the right team for each project, then personally introduces the people who will be working in your home so you always know who to expect at your door. Her role is to orchestrate the process, keep everyone aligned with the plan, and make sure you feel supported from the first meeting to the final walkthrough.

Simone’s work is grounded in family life—both her clients’ and her own. She has been happily married for more than 30 years to her husband, Steven, and takes great joy in watching their three daughters grow into accomplished young women. That personal experience informs the way she designs: with an eye toward everyday routines, long‑term comfort, and the realities of busy households.
